The event was led by Banda Aceh Police Chief, Kombes Pol Fahmi Irwan Ramli, accompanied by Aceh Besar District Attorney Jemmy Novian Tirayudi, Banda Aceh Customs Head Dede Mulyana, and Sultan Iskandar Muda (SIM) Airport Security Department Head, Vovo Kristanto.
At the site, all evidence was dissolved in alcohol, blended, and disposed of in a designated waste facility.

According to Commissioner Fahmi, the evidence originated from drug busts carried out by the Narcotics Unit of Polresta Banda Aceh, under the leadership of AKP Rajabul Asra, in collaboration with SIM Airport Security.
The police arrested seven suspects, identified as MH, MR, JD, MH alias MAD, RF, MAU, and IH, all of whom are Aceh residents.
“These suspects were apprehended at Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport while attempting to smuggle methamphetamine out of Aceh,” said the police chief.
Fahmi revealed that suspects MH and MR were arrested on October 14, 2024, with 912.26 grams of methamphetamine that they planned to smuggle to Jakarta.
Suspect JD was apprehended on November 3, 2024, with 959.48 grams of methamphetamine intended for Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
In follow-up investigations, the police arrested MH alias MAD in Langsa City. The operations in Langsa and Medan were supported by the Aceh Police Narcotics Unit, Customs, and the National Police Headquarters team.
“On November 19, 2024, RF was arrested with two kilograms of methamphetamine. Subsequently, suspects MAU and IH were also arrested in Medan, North Sumatra,” he added.
The suspects employed various smuggling methods, including hiding the drugs in luggage and footwear.
Commissioner Fahmi explained that a portion of the methamphetamine was retained for laboratory testing and as evidence for court proceedings, while the remainder, totaling over 3.7 kilograms, was destroyed.
The suspects are currently detained and face legal proceedings. They have been charged under Article 115 Paragraph 1, Article 114 Paragraph 2, Article 112 Paragraph 2, and Article 132 Paragraph 1 of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics.
“They face a minimum of six years and a maximum of twenty years in prison, life imprisonment, or the death penalty. We hope the court will impose the harshest sentences possible,” he stated.
“All case files have reached the first stage, and we are waiting for directives from prosecutors before proceeding to the next stage and eventually to trial,” he concluded.
